During your initial psychiatric evaluation, your provider will discuss your concerns, symptoms, history, and treatment goals.

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, patients who are uninsured or who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their care.

  • You may request an estimate before scheduling, or at any time during treatment.
  • If you receive a bill at least $400 more than your estimate, you may be able to dispute it.
  • Keep a copy of your estimate.

To request one, call (281) 832-4043.

Care for children and adolescents, ages 6 to 17

In addition to the adults we see every day, we also welcome younger patients. Treating a child or adolescent involves a few extra steps, so here's what families can expect.

Scheduling

A parent or legal guardian schedules the appointment and should plan to attend the initial evaluation.

What to bring

In addition to the items above, please bring documentation of guardianship if you are not the child's parent, along with any school evaluations, prior psychiatric records, or testing results.

During the appointment

Part of the appointment may be spent with your child individually. This is a normal part of adolescent psychiatric care and helps us understand your child's own perspective.

Texas law governs what information may be shared with parents and what a minor may consent to independently. Your provider will explain how confidentiality works in your family's situation at the first appointment. Questions before scheduling? Call (281) 832-4043.
